Atlanta Import & Export was founded by a family of three brothers. They are second generation to a family dealing in scrap metals since the early 70’s. They recognised the need to satisfy the additional needs of the metal industries and this necessitated the creation of this company.
Strategy
An efficient and reliable delivery service is of upmost importance to this company. Making this possible is an experienced staff compliment, trucks, bakkies and forklifts. Other machinery on hand is various cutting equipment’s (croppers, torchers, etc.) this is to enable quick disabling and removals of materials. An acquisition is an automated granulating wire and cable stripper.
The prices offered for non-ferrous metals (copper, brass, aluminium and stainless steel)and ferrous metals(sub-grade, steel shavings and mild steel) is most competitive.
Atlanta believes in legitimate recycling and compliances. They also adhere to environmental friendly policies and subscribes to institutions which embody the steel industry.
Accreditations & Achievements
The company is rated as an EME level 1 BBBEE. The ownership is classified as 100% Historically Disadvantaged Individuals. The company policy is to also empower the staff by skills trainings. Social relationships are maintained by regular donations in cash and kind to various religious institutions and schools.
Successful achievements are for TCCs for Tenders and for Good Standings .This covers Income Tax, Payroll (Emps) and Value Added Tax. Registrations are also with the Workmen’s Compensation Commissioner. We have successfully acquired WCA Clearance Certificates.

Atlanta has been successfully awarded a Customs Export Code to enhance their business and the steel industry as a whole. Our most recent acquisition is a Customs Import Code. (Indeed Atlanta has exported in excess of 4000 tonnes of scrap to the overseas market since its inception.)
